UNIT 3- HEALTH AND SPORT

La unidad 4 de 5º nivel, engloba varios tópicos relacionados con la salud: alimentación, deporte y cuidado de la salud, al ser un tema muy amplio  para el segundo trimestre solo se trabajo esta unidad con varias tareas. El alumnado de 5º nivel se convierten en doctores y pacientes para dramatizar diferentes situaciones creadas por ellos mismos sobre una visita al médico. En su tarea escrita, ellos mismos han publicado en el blog sus entradas con posters sobre deportes, y también han escrito un menu semanal y  recetas sanas de Almería.
En cuanto a los deportes, algunos alumnos/as  han publicado sus propias entradas en el blog con  los  pósters que han elaborado sobre deportes minoritarios en los que exponen los lugares en que se practican, reglas y materiales necesarios. Se pueden ver en este enlace POSTER

Segunda unidad en 5º nivel, los alumn@s han creado y representado un diálogo con adivinanzas sobre animales

ICT IN ENGLISH CLASS

Pupils in 5th classes have just started to use laptops in English class. Their first task is to publish a comment on this blog about the electronic devices (tablets, mobiles, computers, etc) that they have  and how, where and  when  they use them. Then, they must prepare a dialogue about their favourites devices and video games

UNIT4- HEALTHY ALMERIA - Fifth level

Se ha introducido esta unidad durante la semana temática ya que el tópico era ALMERIA, y se han incluido tareas finales que han estado relacionadas con el tema.

TAREAS FINALES:
1-ORAL entrevista a personajes  almerienses conocidos
2-ESCRITA Menú de la semana y recetas cocina.

CONTENIDOS A TRABAJAR
Expresión de movimiento. la acción en presente continuo.  Expresión de movimiento. Expresión de   sentimientos . Descripción de actividades. . Some/AnySome/Any Some/AnySome/Any- contables/incontables
VOCABULARIO relativo relativo relativo a partes de su cuerpo,  movimientos realizados en diferentes deportes, posibles lesiones o enfermedades comunes y visitas al doctor . Alimentación y recetas.
Conductas en la práctica del deporte (exlamaciones de júbilo).
CONTENIDOS A REPASAR:
Uso de must/mustn’t en relación con las reglas los deportes (you must respect the rules,  mustn’t touch the ball).There is, there are.

UNIT 3 FINAL TASK: fifth level

A SHOPPING CENTRE 

TAREAS FINALES: 1- ESCRITA: Map- model "A shopping center". DOSSIER: Describing the shops and what can you buy or do here. -
2- ORAL: A funny shop assistant. Diálogo donde se producen algunas situaciones con malentendidos entre clientes y vendedores.
3-TAREAS DE AMPLIACIÓN: Sales brochure. Oral exposition about shopping center.

CONTENIDOS A TRABAJAR: Preposiciones de lugar/movimiento: In, on, under, behind, between, above, toward.... Tallas y precios, la moneda, cambio. Vocabulario relativo a tiendas, bares y restaurantes, profesiones relacionadas con un centro comercial, horarios, rebajas y compras, Uso de símbolos €, ₤, $,- Tallas XL;L;M;S (referidas a iniciales en inglés), y medidas
 CONTENIDOS A REPASAR: Vocabulario sobre números, direcciones, la ciudad. Afirmación, negación e interrogación en presente. Fórmulas de cortesía en establecimientos públicos TEMPORALIZACIÓN:9 Enero- 20 Febrero de 2018.

PROCESO DE TRABAJO-

El alumnado ha trabajado en equipo para construir las maquetas o planos de sus centros comerciales y los ha descrito, luego han dramatizado algunas situaciones de compras. 

VALORACIÓN, ha habido bastante diferencia de trabajos entre unas clases y otras, y dentro de cada una de las clases también ha sido diferente el nivel de implicación y de trabajo entre los diferentes grupos. Han surgido problemas de relación y colaboración en los equipos, los propios alumnos/as lo han reflejado en sus evaluación del trabajo del grupo. Los diálogos les han llevado mucho tiempo y no siempre los resultados han sido lo que se esperaba, al pedir que fuera una situación curiosa no han sido capaces de  representarla.

1- WRITTEN: Worksheet "My amazing animal"  ESCRITA: Cumplimentar una ficha sobre un animal. 

2- ORAL: " Guess the animal". Dialogue in pairs or threes, they must prented to play a game describing animals and friends have to guess the animal. Diálogo en parejas o tríos en que  deben simular jugar para adivinar de que animal habla su compañero a través de las pistas que le ofrece.

3-EXTENSION TASK - Prepare an oral exposition about your pet. TAREA DE AMPLIACIÓN:  Preparar una presentación para hablar sobre su mascota en clase. 

CONTENTS/ CONTENIDOS 

1-Vocabulary about animals, parts of their bodies, peculiarities, movements, places where they live, etc.- Vocabulario relativo a relativo a animales, características físicas de animales, partes del cuerpo, movimientos que realizan, lugares donde habitan. 

2-Describing habilities(birds can fly) , describing animals (it has got/ it hasn’t got, it is a ....), position of adjectives  Descripción de habilidades (birds can fly) Posición de adjetivos. Descripción de animales (it has got/ it hasn’t got,  it is a…. ) 
3.-Comparative more....than, -er....than / comparativos

ASSESSMENT/ VALORACIÓN

In the 5th grade classes this unit was developed acceptably despite the absence of the teacher. This absence motivated that   some students did not  have enough time to complete all of the proposed tasks and some of the tasks delivered did not correspond exactly to what was required.

As an example I will mention that for the written task "My amazing animal", it was asked to investigate about a strange animal that could surprise our classmates, but some students chose a common animal making their task easier. As for the dialogue in pairs, they were asked to invent a game in which they tried to guess an  animal using some clues  but in some dialogues the main topic were everybody pets or  favorite animals.

En las aulas de 5º esta unidad se ha desarrollado aceptablemente a pesar de la ausencia de la maestra. Esto ha motivado que algunos alumnos/as no hayan tenido tiempo de completar todas las tareas propuestas y que algunas de las tareas entregadas no se correspondieran exactamente con lo que se requería. 

Como ejemplo mencionaré que para la tarea escrita "My amazing animal" se pedía investigar sobre un animal extraño que pudiera sorprender a nuestros compañeros de clase, pero algunos alumnos escogieron un animal común haciendo su tarea más fácil. En cuanto al díalogo en parejas se pedía inventar un juego en el que adivinaban de que animal estaba hablando su compañero a través de pistas, pero en  algunos diálogos el tópico principal eran las mascotas o los animales favoritos de cada niño.

ASSESSMENT/ VALORACIÓN

Unit 1 at the 5th level is used to familiarize students with the use of ICT in the classroom, therefore it is a really motivating drive that make pupils  participate activetily. Almost all the pupils  completed their final tasks, and some of them  had time to complete the extension tasks.
La unidad 1 en el nivel 5º se utiliza para que el alumnado se familiarice con el uso de las TICs en el aula, es por tanto una unidad muy motivadora en la que participen muy activamente. Casi todo el alumnado ha completado sus tareas finales, y algunos han tenido tiempo de realizar la tarea prevista para la ampliación.

For finishing the first unit in 5th grade, children must prepare this written task. They write a comment on this post about three e-gadgets they have, how often do they use them, where  do they use them and what for. They must use adverbs of frequence and new vocabulary.
