UNIT 2- FINAL TASKS- TAREAS FINALES

Esta unidad se ha trabajado en las clases de 4º, 5º y 6º durante los meses de Noviembre y Diciembre de 2017.

En 4 se ha trabajado sobre la descripción de personas y las tareas finales han sido:
-Elaboración de un mural cooperativo expuesto en el hall del centro con mujeres importantes cuya lengua es el inglés.- 






Y la creación de un armario en que han incluido el vocabulario relativo a la ropa, después por parejas han hablado de la ropa que se llevan puesta. 


En 5º la unidad se centraba en una vida saludable, se han trabajado tópicos relativos a alimentación sana, deporte y enfermedades. Las tareas finales han consistido en la creación de un libro virtual con menús y recetas saludables elaborados con las aportaciones de las clases. En la tarea oral se han dramatizado en parejas o tríos situaciones en la consulta del médico.

 El alumnado de 6º curso ha realizado maquetas de maravillas naturales del mundo sobre las cuales han investigado para realizar un dossier y una exposición oral al resto de compañeros. Las maquetas han quedado expuestas en el centro junto con los informes realizados. La preparación de un "MAKING OFF" sobre las actividades que habían llevado a la práctica les ha permitido reflexionar sobre su trabajo y realizar una autoevaluación del mismo pueden verse en este blog MAKING OFF. Relacionado con esta actividad visitaron maravillas naturales cercanas a su entorno, el subdesierto de Tabernas y el Karts en yesos de Sorbas.

UNIT1 -FINAL TASK

In October classes of 4th,5th and 6th level finished the first unit. Here you are the final tasks:
-4th LEVEL-"WELCOME AGAIN TO GINES MORATA SCHOOL"- Children created a birthday calendar that is posted on every classroom walls. They made their timetable in English and finally they prepared a dialogue about all these topics. They learnt about school, subjects, time and dates.


5th LEVEL-"E-GADGETS"- Pupils in 5th level learnt how to use computers. They worked about electronic devices, how often, where, when and what for they use their e-gadgets. They also know the safest way to use the internet. For their first time they can use their emails and publish by themselves on this blog. The final tasks in this unit are a dialogue about the topic, children also made a tutorial about the use of the e-gadgets, a comment on the blog and an advert. They were really motivated for using computers in the classroom and everything is published here, you can have a look  in the previous posts 

6th LEVEL-"FREE TIME"- In 6th we worked about free time. Children prepared a questionnaire using google form with 10 questions about free time. Then, they asked some people and explain the results of the poll in an oral exposition in the classroom.
The second task was related with the cinema/TV, they had to work in teams for preparing a dialogue about their favourite movies or TV program. Some teams decided to perform a movie scene. Many children wrote a review about a film shot in Almeria for extra points.

FINAL TASK 1-MY e-GADGETS

For finishing the first unit in 5th grade, children must prepare this written task. They write a comment on this post about three e-gadgets they have, how often do they use them, where  do they use them and what for. They must use adverbs of frequence and new vocabulary.

Pupils in class 5th grade A-B prepared an advert about a e-gadgets. Some of them were able of publishing on this blog by themselves their adverts, but other ones asked for help.

ENGLISH CAMP

Durante la semana del 4 al 10 de Junio, 25 alumnos/as de 6º A y B han participado en los campamentos de inmersión lingüística convocados por el Ministerio de Educación, Cultura y Deporte. El campamento ha tenido lugar en la localidad de Nerva (Huelva). Las chicas y chicos han compartido su estancia con otros compañeros/as de un colegio de Casatejada (Cáceres), han  realizado actividades deportivas, lúdicas y académicas en inglés. Como tarea final del campamento han elaborado estos videos sobre los aspectos trabajados, así como el diario de viaje que podéis ver en esta entrada. FINAL TASK UNIT 3 6th level. TOURISTIC BROCHURES


Las tareas de la unidad 3, están referidas al viaje de estudios en el que participarán estos alumnos/as al final del curso como colofón a su paso por el colegio. Cada equipo se ha centrado en investigar y trabajar sobre uno de los lugares a visitar durante su viaje. Han elaborado un folleto turístico con los datos del sitio a visitar (incluyendo horarios, precios, lugares interesantes que visitar, cosas que pueden hacer, anécdotas, etc.) posteriormente han creado un diálogo entre unos turistas y unos encargados de agencias de viajes o/y oficinas de turismo que ofrecían información sobre los lugares a visitar. Algunos de los folletos han sido muy atractivos, y van a ser usados realmente durante el viaje. Los diálogos, en su mayoría, han resultado creativos y han demostrado todo lo aprendido sobre como describir lugares. Un trabajo muy satisfactorio para todos/as.


FINAL TASK UNIT 3- 5th LEVEL: SHOPPING

En esta unidad los alumnos/as de 5º A-B debían crear un póster para explicar como sería el "shopping centre" que piensan construir. Posteriormente deben crear un diálogo en el que representen una situación en una tienda. Han aprendido nuevo vocabulario sobre tiendas, a decir que mercancías pueden adquirir en cada tienda, a explicar donde están situadas las tiendas, a expresar unidades de moneda y peso en inglés. En el video podemos observar como la tarea de explicar como es su "shopping centre" ha sido muy repetitiva, pocos han sido originales a la hora de describir que hay en el centro comercial; el diálogo en la tienda ha creado situaciones en las que han demostrado una mayor habilidad al expresar conocimientos adquiridos en inglés.

FINAL TASK UNIT 3- 4 A-B. JOBS


En la unidad 3 hemos trabajado sobre las profesiones, hemos aprendido no sólo el vocabulario de muchas profesiones sino también a expresar el horario y el lugar de trabajo, las tareas que realiza cada trabajador y si lleva o no uniforme. Los alumnos/as han elaborado una ficha con la profesión escogida por cada uno de ellos, con todas ellas hemos creado este libro virtual. Posteriormente han hablado con sus compañeros sobre la profesión escogida. Por último hemos ido a las clases de 5 años con nuestras fichas y hemos hablado con los compañeros/as de estas clases sobre profesiones en inglés. Todos/as lo hemos pasado muy bien, los pequeños también han aprendido con nosotros.

FINAL TASKS UNIT 2 - 5 A-B

The topic for this unit was "healthy body", we worked about diet, sports and doctors.

Task 1- Healthy diet: The pupils wrote their diet for 1 week

 Then, they explained 2 recipes in their menus. 

Task 2- At the doctor's: We prepared a role play. One of the pupils was a doctor, and 2 are ill people who went to the doctor. They performed different situations related to this topic. 



Task 3- Smoret - Virtual poster about sports: Children worked in teams to prepare a virtual poster about a sport. They were encouraged to choose a minoritary sports. They found out information about number of players, rules, time, place, referees, etc.

FINAL TASK UNIT 2- 4 A-B

In this unit we worked about physical appearance.
 TASK 1- My wardrobe, Pupils in 4th level worked about physical description of people, face, body hair, clothes etc. In this task, working in pairs,  they drawed and painted their own wardrobe with their favourites clothes. Next, they had to decide and prepare a dialogue about  what they were wearing for an activity with his/her classmate. Some children focused on the pictures and didn't prepare the dialogues, specially in 4 A class. Many of them, did not like being recorded for videos. 


TASK 2- A famous woman speaking in English.    This is an indiviudal task, children choose a famous women from a country where English is spoken,  They had to paste a picture and to  describe her. They filled in  a template with some information about the woman they had chosen and then, they explained in class who is she. We made a cooperative poster using all the information. 
We used women description for this activity because we were working in our Erasmus+ project "S/He is equal in Europe". 





FINAL TASK UNIT 2- 6 A-B

Task 1-Poll -Task 1-Poll -Children in 6th worked in teams about "Spare time", they prepared a questionnaire with 10 questions related to activities  their friends prefere doing during their spare time. They worked with google forms. Them, they explained the results in class. This task was not a succes, children prepared good questions from  a grammar point of view but the questions were not relevant for asking information about free time. Some teams did not have enough time to prepare the forms and they repeated the same questions. 
Oral exposition about the polls, for many teams were just reading the results without any explanation. 

Task 2- Almeria cinema- They used English for explaining the relation about our city and the cinema. They prepare a review about films shot in Almería. They were surprise about how many famous films and series have being shot  here since the sixties.  We prepared a interactive book with the collected information. 


Task 3- A cinema scene- They prepared a scene for a film they loved and performed it in the class. Pupils were really motivated for this activity, they enjoyed a lot and their performances were very good,
